Tom Hanks has warned an advert that appears to be fronted by him is in fact an artificial intelligence (AI) fake. “There’s a video out there promoting some dental plan with an AI version of me,” the actor wrote on Instagram. “I have nothing to do with it,” he added. Hanks has previously spoken about the “artistic challenge” that AI poses his industry, and the issue has been central to recent strikes by high-profile Hollywood actors and writers. A cheap malaria vaccine that can be produced on a massive scale has been recommended for use by the World Health Organization (WHO). The vaccine has been developed by the University of Oxford and is only the second malaria vaccine to be developed. Malaria kills mostly babies and infants, and has been one of the biggest scourges on humanity. There are already agreements in place to manufacture more than 100 million doses a year. It has taken more than a century of scientific effort to develop effective vaccines against malaria. The disease is caused by a complex parasite, which is…

But she told Radio 1’s Live Lounge that Madison was her “muse” for Logical. The friends met when they starred together in Disney Channel show Bizaardvark. It was later on, when they were talking about one of Madison’s relationships during…

A BBC investigation found a highly organised network used a middleman to find young men for the events with Mike Jeffries and Matthew Smith. Eight men told the BBC they attended these events, some of whom alleged they were exploited or abused. Mr Jeffries and Mr Smith did not respond to requests for comment. But the couple’s middleman denied any wrongdoing and said men went into these events “with their eyes wide open”. Abercrombie & Fitch (A&F)…
The head of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries — a group of the world’s major oil producers — told CNN Monday that a lack of investment in the oil industry posed a danger to global energy security and could send crude prices to $100 a barrel. Worldwide, a total investment of at least $12 trillion is needed in the oil industry between now and 2045 to prevent a spike in energy prices, Haitham Al Ghais, OPEC’s secretary-general, told CNN’s Becky Anderson at the ADIPEC energy conference in Abu Dhabi. Underinvestment in the oil sector is “dangerous,” he warned. “By underinvesting, we are…
