The killing of the president of a synagogue in Detroit does not appear to be a hate crime, police have said. Samantha Woll was found stabbed to death near her home after police responded to a call in the Lafayette Park area on Saturday. “No evidence has surfaced suggesting that this crime was motivated by antisemitism,” said Detroit Police Chief James White. The EU Tax Observatory said most people pay a higher rate than the super-rich, who, it said, are able to use complex business structures for avoidance.
